Latimer Iowa | We converted a 795 to a T-Rod chain. Been a long time but I don't remember changing any sprockets. Preferred the T-rod chain but my grandpa had a habit of not noticing if it broke right away and unloading the chain in the field. Spent a fair bit of time looking for missing links, much worse job in the snow. I preferred the double apron because if one side broke you could still get the spreader empty fairly easily with a pitchfork, not alot of fun on a spreader the size of a 795 but was effective. We were pretty low budget in the 80's-early 90's, didn't have money for any other way, and the T rod was the best option. | |
