NW Iowa
It all depends on the area you live in.
230 bu corn at 26 ton adds up
What can you sell that acre of corn for and what
does it equal in tons of feed?
If you live in grass country and can bale quality grass then
maybe not?
I can get DDG for 160/ ton 7 miles away.
Great product, you can feed stalks and DDG to cows.
But you need to add water to keep dust down and make it stick
Modified works if you can feed it before it turns orange and green...
Every area is different; you need to do your own math.
TMR and fenceline bunks make it easy for me to play with about anything
But cement, bunks, TMR, tractors all cost money too.
No one size fits all.
If you can get to $1.50 a day, that's going to be hard to beat anyplace.
Just want to be $2 or under.

Edit- If you can't figure your exact cost/ cow, then you have problems.
I can tell you my exact number on anything, you just have to do the work
to figure it out. You need to know to be profitable, or you are just kidding yourself.
