I have one that did the same thing when it was new. Seemed like the spring wasn’t strong enough to keep sufficient pressure on the tube plunger to keep the pump supplied. It worked fine if you locked the rod out and put a little pressure on it. It got better with use but will still do it sometimes when it’s cold. Helps to run it on low when it’s cold. It does a great job of cleaning the tube out so I assume the seal is a little tight and it will continue to get better as it wears in. It’s annoying but overall I still like it much better than my brother’s dewalt.
