Subject: RE: Milwaukee grease gun tubes

Coles County, Illinois
Before you go and spend money completely clean all the grease out of the head. There's just a gap in the side of a little cylinder where the motor runs a piston back and forth. If you get hard grease around this area, good grease has a hard time refilling the gap. I used diesel fuel to clean the head. Another thing is to store the tubes with the plastic caps up. Laying them on the side is probably worst as you can get air throughout the cartridge. I also try to leave the rod pulled out and replace the cartridge soon after the rod disappears.
