Call me a fool.........but I guess I assumed the EPA's requirement of the oxygenate.............which cleaned the air up through the 80s into the 90s was the fix. Prove me wrong. You'd be fighting the EPA itself while you're delivering up your proof by the way.
The great thing about ethanol fitting that requirement............was that it replaced the cancer causing MTBE. To date.........nothing better, or cheaper than ethanol has been found.
The same EPA that mandated DEF on equipment.?? Since your so concerned about the environment how many natural gas semi’s and vehicles are you running? I assume all your tractors and combines also run def because it’s better for the environment according to the epa?
How much mandated low sulphur diesel are you buying? News flash, all of it. And it costs more when they take the good stuff out of it. Are you still buying leaded gas? No, you are buying tje mandated unlead. Ethanol oxygenates gasoline so the sun doesn't form smog. Mtbe was mandated but was linked to cancer. The 10% ethanol was put in place when we were at war with the middle east and it streched our gasoline supply back when we weren't producing enough oil or gasoline.
I assume that even your non ethanol gas has ethanol in it because all gas has to have an oxygent I think, but maybe just on the coasts.
Just seems like you are picking on e10 over the other mandated fuels.
