 | The National Corn Growers formula is: Total row length harvested times row width in feet divided 43560 square feet per acre for the area harvested.
Th calculation of the harvested grain is: gross weight minus tare weight times adjusted moisture (100-testes moisture to 2 decimal points) divided by 47.32 (pounds of completely dry corn per bushel) equals bushels harvested.

Bushels harvested divided by acers harvested is bushels per acre.

 Example: 8 rows x 30 inches (2.5 ft) x2800 feet long = 56000 square feet

 56000 square feet divided by 43560 = 1.285 acers

Gross weight= 67080 pounds- tare weight of 46580 = 20500 pounds of as harvested grain

Moisture calculation: tested moisture was 20.50% (1-.205=.795), 20500 pounds times .795 =16297.5 pounds of zero percent moisture corn

 16297.5 pounds divided by 47.32 = 344.1 bushels harvested

344.1 bushels divided by 1.285 acres = 267.78 bu. acre
