Subject: RE: Inflation in the ag sector

Hennepin, IL
Maybe I didnt get stuff bought right in 23, but im pretty sure all my fertilizer was flat to down in that timeframe, id have to go back and look but I think N was higher priced in fall 22 than it is now, but for sure compared to last fall. DAP might be higher for 25 depending on when it was priced for each crop. Seed was flat maybe up a touch, chemicals were definitely down, crop insurance was down a touch, dont remember fuel but it couldnt have been much cheaper if it was. How much else is there, land? Havent rented or bought anything since before then, so thats flat for me. Land prices have been flat to down as a whole in that time period at least here. Remember Im talking 23 crop, so starting in late 22 through summerish 25. Point being, things havent been rosy for awhile, but theres a certain narrative out there that everything was just peachy until the tariffs came along.
