IL near StL | Probably should post in Machinery Talk but here's my experience. We bought an 04 back in 11. It had 700,000 miles on it. At that point it had 1 turbo that had been replaced but really hadn't been touched otherwise. Over the coarse of the next couple years we were having trouble with it, white smoke, etc. Our mechanic started with injectors and a couple other small things, seemed to help but didn't fix it. We later figured out that the head was cracked and so at that point we went ahead and did an complete inframe with a Platinum Cat kit since we were already part way there and other than the normal things that come with an older truck we've really not had anymore problems with it. I think we've replaced the other turbo since we've owned it but honestly since the overhaul it's been a really good truck. The C-13 isn't really popular on AT but again, since the overhaul we've gotten along good with the truck. | |
