NW IL | I think it was the tone and way it was delivered that upset people more than the actual importing. Every analyst I've heard said that imports would barely move the needle on consumer prices.
The other consideration is that the big packers own a lot of the beef process in both north and south america. Imports only serve to help the big beef business. With gov't backing they can probably get more beef to the US to sell at higher prices. | |
