SC Minnesota | I have been strip-tilling and banding fertilizer for many years. My Montag air cart has two bins allowing me to vrt P and K separately, very much the same as the vrt broadcast floaters. The U of MN is referring to any broadcast application (straight rate or vrt) as blanket spreading. Soil testing (grids) is done every 3-4 years and care needs to be taken to sample in such a way that doesn't skew the results too much from banded applications. | |
