My aunt did traveling nursing in Vietnam 20-30 years after the war ended. She said there were a lot of issues that were popping up in the children/young people and they were able to trace it back to some of the heavy chemical exposure 1 or 2 generations previous. (Like having agent orange dumped all over a village.) So the effects skipped a generation or 2 somehow.

I also saw a paper from Europe a year ago where they were having chemical issues in the rivers. They were able to trace it back to certain laundry detergents that degraded into the same compounds as ag pesticides. Article said those detergents weren't sold in the US, but who know what other things we have around us and what they are degrading into.

No idea if that's related to this article, but going off the title it could be.
