 Northwest IOWA
 | We were too wet for ground rigs much of July - a friend of ours with 2 drones applied Azoxyprop at the beginning of the " Spraying Blitz" on 160 acre field - Then 3 days later he got 600 acres in 1 day. Both those acres were our best . 5 or 6 days later the Airplane got half of a 240 sprayed - then it rained - the other half a day or2 later- Then another farm sprayed - those farms were disappointing as they were 13% -poor stalk condition- and 30- 40 bu less than what the drones did at the right time- we left 1 farm untreated - it was 100 and 101 day corn - was about same yield as late treated w plane . All the hybrids on the treated farms were 105 108 109 day Pioneer Wyfells Channel - we are planning to upgrade to a Hagie with a neighbor for next year... Total rainfall here was 10-11 inches in July alone - then August and Sept turned dry . | |
