I have a 10" auger feeding the dryer fill leg on 2 wet bins. Since they start and stop full of wet corn every couple of minutes I wanted them to be incredibly reliable. I bought some really heavy duty 10 horsepower 1200 rpm motors off ebay. The auger pulleys are 18" I think the motor pulley is about 5 or 6. The only time I have burned belts off is when something downstream plugged.
They are also set up on VFD's and will comfortably run at 50% speed. | |
