Sounds like you’re going to have to do what your gut tells you. My initial thought is what happened to truck to require 4 new drives before auction? If the other drive axle is “knee deep in tread” so they both are similar in wear, I might not have any issue. If the other axle is 50% or less tread I will start to wonder, mismatched brands or tread only increases this. Your 80% steers are a good thing, and don’t need to be same brand as the drives in my book.

Me personally tires don’t make or break the sale by themselves, it’s what I think the value of the item is as it sits. I still prefer buying my own tires. Many folks won’t run recaps, some won’t run off brand tires. Some guys are happy with running 8 mismatched drive tires. To me that kinda truck gets a big discount.

ETA: If I was selling the kind or quality of the auction makes a difference as well. A local auction with centralized advertising I’d not add the new tires. If it’s an auction that draws online bidders and participation from a large region (think out of state) and has a lot of good quality items that would entice me to add the new tires.
