SE SD | I owned both. A 290 Magnum and 8310R with a Power shift.
Magnum wins on:
Powershift is smooth and fast.
Cab is spacious, and more quiet
Steering effort and turning.
Better engine fan drive.
Deere wins on:
Ride quality with ILS
Visibility, better seat, WAY better stereo
Better controls
WAY better technology with Greenstar
WAY better lights
Easier to service.
This was my experience. The Magnum left for a 9RT and 8310R stays forever. I probably won't own a red tractor again. It wasn't terrible by any means, but after running both side by side for 3 years it got to the point that no one wanted to drive the Magnum unless they had to. Mostly due to the technology side of things and ride quality I reckon. Deere is just more user friendly in my experience. | |
