Pay close attention to the fins-per-inch on the replacement radiator. Too tight on a combine and you'll wish you'd never have messed with it. Compare it to what you have. Fin count will vary between harvest machines and year-round mules. Chaff is not good with too tight of fin density. Also pay attention to the tube layout. Straight? Staggered? Freedom of airflow is critical, and the current one took all that into account. Also wondering what you are going to do with the extra thickness. If you allow the cooling system to get closer to the engine, you'll have to look at fan insertion in to the shroud and possibly correct for that. Getting air into and through the coolers is one thing... but if it cannot escape the space between engine and back of radiator you are screwed. The insertion depth of the fan into the shroud also has big impact on airflow efficiency so try to maintain the same relationship between fan and shroud. Have you looked at different fan blades or maybe a fan drive change to augment the airflow? A whole new Radiator is a pretty drastic move when there are so many other factors in play that are cheaper and quicker to play with. Are your current tubes clean? Water pump impeller good? I've seen impellor retaining nuts back off enough to cause pump slippage, reduce the GPM, and lessen the cooling capacity. Easy factor to miss. Also, if you have not tested the stat[s] it's a cheap and quick thing to eliminate. Remember that the radiator is the last cooler in the stack so if the air cannot easily move through it, your charge air cooler, oil coolers, and AC condensor could lose performance.... unintended consequences.
