Why do you say this is not a win for the American Consumer? That is the sole.... main... reason being presented for doing this. Share your logic please.
The packers have been making thousands of dollars per head for 20 years. They aren't going to drop the price they sell their product for, only what they buy ours for.
They never did during the big drought years when 15k head was a small sale, why would they now?
