Idaho | OntarioCanuck - 10/22/2025 17:01 Why stop with one? Here are some from around the world Osiris - Egypt Baldr- Norse Quetzalcoati - Aztec Izanami - Japan
Baldr-Norse The whole world did indeed weep for the generous son of Odin – all, that is, save one creature. The giantess Þökk (“Thanks”[4]), generally assumed to be Loki in disguise, callously refused to perform the act that would secure Baldur’s return. And so Baldur was doomed to remain with Hel in her joyless realm. Seems that one did not make it back.
Osiris This identification with Osiris, however, did not imply resurrection, for even Osiris did not rise from the dead. Nope not here either.
Quetzalcoati Quetzalcoatl was one of many gods and had different forms, like the god of Venus and wind. I do not find anything that says he was resurrected.
Izanami Izanami could not return to the world of the living. In an attempt to persuade her, Izanagi lit a fire, representing light and hope. However, Izanami’s transformation into the goddess of death was irreversible. This struggle highlights the themes of longing and acceptance in the face of loss. Looks like that one did not make it back either OC.
Interesting but none of the four that you listed seem to have resurrected. Want to list some more? |
