That is the argument I have against too high of a minimum wage. If you raise minimum wage to $25 an hour, you do not suddenly have everyone getting $25 an hour or more, you just got everyone who is not worth $25 an hour fired.
I've worked with a lot of people, and done a lot of odd sort-work jobs, largely in construction. I have seen people that got paid $40 an hour, and were worth every penny of it, and I've seen people getting minimum wage that didn't deserve it. | |
