coast of Maine
I know that heat pumps get a bit of bad rap for certain heat levels of exterior air.We put a heat pump in the lowest level of my lake house.Used a core drill to get lines to the outside unit.It runs all on its own,set and forget.Keeps that level which is 3 sided concrete comfortable.Open stairways allow heat rise to the top two floors.Perhaps too cool in sub zero but not a concern as I am south then.If doorway was closed to stairs it would be almost toasty there. Its quiet beyond.
