Have the same problem with my house, ducts with vents in basement but always colder in basement but also no door at the bottom on the steps so heat with go up stairway. In my old farm house built in the 30's with the old fuel oil furnace it had a door at the bottom on the stairs and it would really make a difference if the door was shut, shower was in the basement and I always made sure that door was shut
