| Not my basement, but we made our kitchen bigger. With a 5-foot crawl space under the addition. North side of house. Cold, cold, cold in wintertime. Finally put hot water heat in under the floor. What a difference. Warm floor makes the rest warm. Last year spray foamed the old and new basement walls and about a foot under the floor all the way around the house.
Do not know how hot water heat would work in the basement. My parents' house has hot water heat in the ceiling on the main floor of their house. Very warm, works great there. It is imbedded in the ceiling plaster. It was built in the 50s. No leaks yet. | |
