Mid Michigan
No it's not too much to ask county employees to remove dead animals from the roadside. We own roadside property and I remove about 30 deer every year myself from the roadside and at least as many coons and woodchucks. I did 4 raccoons and a woodchuck in the last 2 weeks. Nobody likes to look at them and nobody likes to smell them but to find a man to remove them is getting pretty rare. You see we have a lot of males driving around but not very many men that can still drag a dead deer from the highway without crying or throwing a hissy fit. I always thought they could take inmates from the jail out to do it. Better than sitting in a cell all day doing nothing. They had a special segment on the news the other day where they were talking about this and they had some guys out and they were treating it like a forensic hazmat scene with four guys trying to get a deer out of this guys yard. I thought good god hook a chain to it's foot and drag it to the swamp down the road in 2 minutes with a quad.
