Eastern Nebraska | I'll make an attempt at a one minute answer to your question. I believe that the Bible is the one way and unfortunately Satan, the Devil is a great deceiver.
There is a key difference between Christianity and religions of the world. The religions of the world all to some degree or another include a value system that allows for a person to earn their way into right standing with God, whether it is sure or not depends on the system.
The God of the Bible answers that question for us. He gives us the law to show us our sin, not give us a target to reach in order to be saved. The payment (wages) for our sin is death (Romans 6:23) and eternal separation from God. Knowing that we cannot earn our salvation by good works is bad news on the surface, but good news in reality. Christ paid for our sin on the cross. Salvation is a free gift offered to those who believe. Ephesians 2:8-9, " For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not by works, lest any man should boast."
Also other religions of the world will leave the door open for other ways to salvation. Christianity does not. There is one way. In John 14:6 Jesus says, " I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Me." He does not say "a" way, but "the" way. | |
