Eastern Nebraska | Sounds like you echo Paul in Romans 7:18-19, "For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in m, but the doing of the good is not. For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want."
Our acts of righteousness are "filthy rags" on our own. No amount of righteousness can, "tip the scale," only trusting in the complete work of Christ on the Cross for our sins can save.
Rather than an act of appeasement, our works are to be acts of worship. | |
