First of all, there are many jobs locals won't do for ANY price. It's the American way.
Why do you suppose there are so many H2 workers on farms? They get the same pay as locals, but the locals won't do it.
Then you talk about your kids wanting $50/hour plus benefits to pick berries. You must have pretty entitled kids.
Then you talk about people paying the berry producer a fair profit.
If the migrant is getting $10/hr and your kids are getting $50, the producer just has to charge that much more for his berries and not .01 more is going in his pocket.
And do you really think people will pay 3-4 times more for berries than they are now? I think not. | |
