Subject: Why can’t we pick our own vegetables?

Media likes to claim we need illegals to pick our vegetables, build our houses and do all the “bad” jobs.

But do we?

25 years ago I had a buddy who was a drywall finisher. I was a journeyman electrician at the time. He made $1.50 less than I did. Now days drywall finishers are mostly illegals and the pay is the same as 25 years ago.

They say Americans won’t to the job, which isn’t true. Americans won’t do the job for table scraps is the issue.

My kid would gladly pick strawberries for $50 an hour with benefits. They claim that strawberries will cost a fortune. Fine buy me, maybe they should cost enough to provide a living wage for the people producing the product.

Lots of office workers move paperwork from one side of the desk to the other earning north of $80,000, while adding no value. Why shouldn’t the guy roofing their house make more than them? Harder work in the heat with the danger of falling.
