Just a wag here who they are and what they did. They are a collection agency that paid in this case, Capital one a percentage of the unpaid balance owed by whomever the customer actually was, and now is seeking to collect the total amount owed. It’s a numbers game, my guess is they make 125% on the deals they get to collect on. You just need to prove they got the wrong guy, or they need prove they have the right guy.
