Latimer Iowa | We have the mill building itself enclosed enough that it can be worked on/in over the winter. There are 7 floors each 15-20 foot ceiling height. Working on pouring floors 1 and 2 right now. Once those floors are poured the concrete crew will keep working up and the finish/equipment crew can start on the lower levels. Depending on weather, and money, and government, we hope to install the finished product bins in December and get the rest of the roof capped off. Right now it is just covered with steel.
The hulls load out building will hopefully be done within a month. The sidewalls are the 8 foot concrete forms in the pictures and there will be a 14 foot steel building built on top of that. Having this 80x100 building would really help for winter construction allowances.
Getting whatever exterior concrete poured we can before freeze up.
The Natural gas line was bored in last week with temporary meter in soon. Piping to each floor of the mill and to the hull building for temp heat. They also have a hoop/container shop up and enclosed, that welding and cutting is done in.
Winter construction here sucks but the overhead costs outweigh the cost of winter building. | |
