Subject: Real HORSEPOWER.

North East Wimmera district of Victoria.

G'day !   In Australia we have an ABC TV program called "Landline"  - all things Agricultural.
Today's program featured a record [I am told] of 62 draught horses hitched into ONE team and pulling a wagon.
Most times when large numbers of draught horses work together, there are "teamsters" walking on the ground beside the team, guiding and controlling.
But this team was controlled by voice from drivers actually on the waggon to be hauled. I am not sure how many owners co-operated , but it took two hours to actually hook up the team.
As a kid - I'll be 81 on Nov 15th - my Dad and his two brothers still worked with clydesdales, cannot remember much about it all. I was born 1944, and the last teams were gone by 1950.
I am hoping that if anyone is interested, they will be able to find the "ABC Landline" program on the 'net.
Try  "ABC Landline Iview" for the program aired today Sunday 19th October.
Local time was 12.30pm Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time.

I hope this works as it was a sight to bring tears to my eyes!

Guess that has something to do with my DoB!

Cheers
