| Made the switch 2 years ago to a what i consider a hybrid feeding system. We used to put out 4 bales every 4 days for 50 head of cows. Now I'm Tmr'ing a load every 3 days of 50/50 corn silage/ground hay and putting 4 bales in every 10 days. The reason I went to more tmr is COF. Corn silage is cheap compared to dry hay/oatlage/or even wet hay. We had the best calving season on record this year and I truly think it was due to the TMR. | |
