Subject: Contract feeding hog market

Central Iowa
Starting to see a little life in the swine side of contract feeding. Positive margins will do that. Looks like $25 to $35 per head margins for the next 12 months if you have the pig supply contract. Sow numbers steady and maybe a little better health overall lead to needing more space.

Ive got a barn coming off contract this turn and have 3 or 4 parties knocking on the door. Mind you, nothing great in terms of payment increases but increases nonetheless after years of flat payments in the industry. Previous integrators waving upgrades to secure space, rates higher, performance payments, etc.

Curious what others are seeing.
