Subject: Some dreams die hard,...........

So yesterday moved cows to water as some hadn't been in this pasture before, as we moved bulk of them the day before. Took some time to click a few photos. The mountain in far distance is where these cows came from a two week ago. Moved them under freeway, then weaned calves. So, the mountain we are on, has been mined for gold since the late 1800's, outfit came in and also mined it in the 1990's. As you can see the area where leach pad was as it is reclaimed. However, a Canadian company has got the leases on Forest and BLM land right here, part of is FS and the lower is BLM. I and others run on the BLM. We are going to get kicked off it, for the greater good of the people to mine it again. Projected 20-year project to mine it.

Also a few photos of settlement in the area, had farms and quite a little community there to support the mining. Still run into lots of cement that has been poured for foundations and wells. Infact I almost rode into a well hole that was grassed up around it. It was lined with concrete, squared tough to see down it. Dropped a rock in it, took about 4 seconds to hit and sounded like mud when it did. It needs to be filled in; we've filled a few others in over the years.

So just like the early farmers and miners, they came and left. Turned into grazing and hunting, fires over time on the land. Now I'm going to kicked off grazing. With my age, I'm telling guys This will be one of my last gathers off this mountain if mine goes in. They figure to be pulling gold in less than three years. They have secured three times the needed water for mining operation than last time. Maybe I can get gate guard job.
