NW IN | Anyone run a 10 wheel H&S and find a sweet spot on speed/angle to run it?
I've owned an AR10 (AR1061 by serial number) for 6 or 7 seasons. I can make a good windrow for round baling at 8-9 mph but it bounces all the time and will skip over hay on the first wheels. Makes for a dirty hayfield when it gets baled. If I flatten out arms one hole to make a smaller windrow for small squares it tends to plug.
I have broken the double wheel arms at the frame mount point a couple of times. Replaced and last time repaired with solid iron at a local weld shop.
I've tried adjusting some things by the book and it didn't make it better, sometimes worse.
At 5 mph I can't bale the windrow and make a good round bale and it still wants to bounce.
Been a frustrating rake for a while for me. | |
