Thumb of Michigan
I'm surely not one to know, because I only feed 20-25 brood cows. But my question is what do you consider small? This might make a difference. I only start a tractor every couple of days (3 to 5 day intervals) feeding RB. Would a TMR work in my situation, I'm guessing not, the ration would start heating, if I was using silage or haylage, the face probably wouldn't be used fast enough. Maybe a small bagger could work though.

I'm going to follow this too, just for info, maybe there is a better way that I can learn too.

BTW, I strive for hay that's higher in CP and feed the higher stuff when it's colder out. My 1st cutting dry hay is between 10 & 14% CP, my later cuttings (either dry or balage hay) is above 18% CP. An individual bale wrapper has made a huge difference in quality of hay I'm able to put up.
