Saronville NE
Id take the chance. But now might not be the best time to fill it yourself. We have to about be at the highs. Maybe place 100 hd for now and your own off the other yard.

Personally i think row crop is a dead end. Youd be much better off doing this, growing your own feed and selling it thru the cattle. Make money on both ends. Takes more work and dedication but from my experience its worth it.

Custom feeding unless full year round, youll never do anything but pay the bills, youll never actually make money. Like if had been only custom feeding the last 2 yrs you would of left $400-900 a head profit on the table, would take next 20 yrs to make that up in custom feeding. Those are the years you buikd working capital and strength in your operation. You will have those years about 3 out of 10 yrs, then smaller profits and years custom be the same money. But if good operator you will basically make money every yr, just wont be much some years. Jmho
