Subject: Cottonseed for feed

Nash County, NC
I have recently had a shift in responsibility and part of my responsibility is now pricing and selling cottonseed that is ultimately used for feed. I have been told the majority of it goes for diary feed to be part of a ration.

What is seed completing against to make it in the ration? What value does the seed provide?

I am trying to educated myself to make better decisions regarding the value of the seed. I am not worried about $5 a ton here or $10’a ton there. I am trying to understand trends and direction for a market that doesn’t have much public information. With the cotton (lint) or grains, the USDA atleast provides supply and demand.
