It can make as much difference how it was processed as what species. Some combines really tear up the straw and some pretty much send it through intact. The toughest straw to use or clean out would be rye cut at heading out and baled directly for straw. Hard to bale, hard to shake out, hard to dig out, absolute murder on a spreader.
