SE IL | If you watched the video she also talked about how large a difference in yield can be from a small difference in application when disease is so extreme. She used 80% in the video, so what if the area got 80% coverage yielded 5bpa less, and the center that got 20% more yielded 5 bpa more? A perfectly even application may have not ended with a better yield. Interesting for sure.
Edit to add: I’m not convinced from the pic in the OP that it’s from fungicide, the video seems to show a more consistent pattern.
