I took out all my spreaders for beans years ago. when it's full (or I am done) I climb up and get in with a shovel and level it off.

spreader on beans will turn them into a concrete floor that air will not want to go through. I don't know why but I don't argue with results.


Interesting,we’ve been running a power spreader in our 48’ 9 ring bean bin for 23 years, and have never had any problems with air flow, never have had any problems with pods flowing down the outside of the pile against the wall( no pile it’s flat)and have never plugged the sump unloading.
