You never explained how you think disease works either. Reservoir, vector, host, hospitable conditions.

Nothing can stop any of those entirely. We can help obviously I don't think anyone has denied that. However correct me if I'm wrong you seem to be saying that a healthy soil can stop the reservoir of disease or provide nutrients that help the plant resist infection.

I'll counter with if healthy soil could do that why have these soil pathogens evolved? They are older tha modern AG and agriculture in the plains in general. People have know about rust spores since shortly after the invention of the microscope. Was the soil not healthy 175 years ago?

I literally just got done saying these diseases, pests will always be here. They're part of nature.

The statement that rust has been around for a very long time. Your statement hits right in line with my questioning. How come in the past these diseases and pests didn't destroy the crop every year. Other than the plants and soil were healthier back then, what other reason could there be that the diseases didn't just run rampant every year or very often?

Your statement is a wonderful example of how a functioning ecosystem can greatly reduce the impact of these diseases.

So what has changed from then till now? How come now we're fighting more and more diseases?

Soybean aphids, for example, been around very long time, but they did not become a major pest until literally a couple years after soybeans became Roundup ready. BT corn and corn root worm, similar story. Why?

Isn't asking these questions and looking for answers how we solve problems? Isn't that how we fix things and get better and improve?

I am still confused how everybody isn't asking these same questions
