If it died before black layer is going to be garbage corn 47 pound test weight and going to start falling over, that green corn going to be good with 40% more yield. Been looking at corn all week some the ears the cobs are getting rotten already the cobs soft going to be hard to set a combine


You don't have to convince me. I don't agree with his thoughts. I don't however think that it affects TW as much though. We didn't reach black layer the last couple years and the TW was still 54-56. It does however take a lot more kernels per bushel and that's where the negative was for us. I heard back today from the operation that I visited. 19 pct moisture, 56# TW and 190 bushel. Also complained of rubbery cobbs.
