We have no till for many years, and expect them to get a slower start than tilled. Early summer you think they are not looking near as good as those behind tillage. In August they catch the tilled beans and in some cases maybe surpass them in looks. They do stay green a little longer because of a slower start.
Ours were drilled and now a Hiniker seeder, never a planter which would be better.
