I am not "gaslighting". Farmers get the bulk of the benefit of crop insurance subsidies. Obviously buying crop insurance at all is a choice. To be paid a direct payment to not buy insurance would be a ridiculous waste of tax payer money.

Edit add: I am a believer that crop insurance subsidies have been capitalized into land values along with direct payments. I agree with the ISU ag economics department on this.



I don’t see how paying the direct payment would be any more or less wasteful of taxpayer dollars than paying it indirectly.
