My vermeer dealer says to pour bleach on them. I never done it but he swears by it. Guess its cheap to try.

He's a vermeer expert no doubt. Mom and pop small vermeer dealer, all they sale. Been doing it forever, and he really is slick with vermeer stuff.

My baler will stop spinning the belts after ejecting a bale and closing the tailgate in dusty dry dry conditions. Mine doesnt have a rubber coated drive roller so i add some gator tape. That the tape you put on steps for traction. The tape lasts 100s of bales and takes a few mins to put on and is cheap.

Finally switched to a twin hydraulic rake and never had the issue agian, guess that much less dirt/dust in the windrow without using a wheel rake.

Edit to add

But i never had issues of forming a core, just belts not wanting to turn in really dusty conditions. As long as the belts are turning on my rancher 665 it will eat just about anything.
