Subject: Yet another early 4020 steering problem question

Morgan Co. Illinois
Hit a hole while mowing Saturday that turned the front wheels hard left. I backed right out and it continued turning itself until full left. Steer valve under dash is cracked and leaking. Can't see any visible damage in the front and no oil leaking. My question is, if I loosen all the lines to the steer valve shouldn't that relieve the pressure so I can straighten the front wheels manually with the front raised up?
