Subject: Transfer Pump 6.5hp Fuel issue

Cen Ks
The 6.5hp PowerPro motors have served us well for years. Most anytime one doesn't run/start right ; a good carb cleaning fixes the issue. If that doesn't help, a $18.00 carb from Amazon gets it running like new. However this one has me baffled. It starts just fine, after it get warmed up it starts running rich. It begins to smoke like the choke is on and dumping fuel into cylinder. At times it will die. A quick pull fires it right back up. On "Honda clone" engines, some carbs have a fuel mixture screw, some don't. Turning the adjusting screw doesn't seem to make any diff.
A new carb & spark plug didn't help. Any suggestions?
