I hate my smooth top too.   Hard to keep clean,  had to change the switch /sensor on my favorite burner.   My Microwave is above that stove glass top.  Always in fear I'll drop a hot or heavy dish and break it.    We already have a spot reserved to put the microwave on the  counter,  once I get older and weaker.   Also,  doesn't make a good toasted marshmallow  like the coiled stove top.
