Honestly go buy a 20 year old set as they very well will out last the new stuff. The stove and oven in our house is Westinghouse from the 1960's. Work as well as anything new you can buy.
I had to laugh when you said 20 year old and 1960 in the same paragraph. 20 year old is about the same quality as today. We just replaced our 17 year old fridge and repairman said that was decent lifespan for that model.
