NW IA | I have run a Honda foot shift for a few months now, daily use. I prefer our Yamaha belt drive. The Yamaha is also a no-brainer for green help to get on and go.
I can't comment on Honda's electric shift. I got the Honda based on reviews here and elsewhere about the manuals longevity.
Not to be misunderstood, no complaint against the Honda, just believe the Yamaha is far easier to operate. I also like the faster reverse on the Yamaha.
I can't see the Honda being better re longevity than my old Kodiak. The Yamaha has had hard use everyday all year round in the past.
Edit. Just a pic of an operator whose legs won't reach the foot-shift. I have to ride along.
